Church Finances
Budgeting
More emphasis seems to be placed on the financial budgeting process in
our demanding world, whether it is in a large church or a small rural
church
Church Giving
Giving is a personal
matter; each Christian must decide in his own heart what is important in
his life. Giving was one of our Savior's most endearing traits, a
trait we are to emulate in our own lives. (! Cor 11:1) But just
like a person's prayer life, giving can often be something that is
merely done by rote, with little thought or comprehension of its
importance. He continues to give what he gave 25 years ago, and
neither he nor the church receives any benefit. The church is blessed by
about 20% of its members, who give as they should. The other 80% never
fully comprehend the blessings they are missing. Yet we never do
anything to try to help them. We may browbeat them or attempt to
make them feel guilty for their lack of faith, while encouragement
should be our main goal. Let's increase our contribution, but let's do
it by getting our brothers and sisters emotionally involved with our
efforts. That is when the true blessings will come!
Safeguards for Handling
Church Funds
Are you paying your
preacher enough?
Society may hold preachers in high regard, but when it comes to
salaries, churches pay their clergy less than public school teachers.
